It was a random moment. My kid and I were going to make nachos, watch a movie, hang out. Last minute she says, "I want to stay at Nana's." Fair enough. Nana lets her stay up late, eat at McDonald's, and Nana has a great big dog. If I was 8 I'd want to be there too.
It was a lovely summer night. I threw a camera in my bag, loaded up a podcast heavy playlist into my (obsolete and no longer made) iPod (seriously, why are there no alternatives to this? screw you Apple) and headed out for a ride on an overpriced handmade single speed (I changed the bars on mine, it's more of a BMX cruiser now). And took photographs.
It was a lovely way to spend a night. But I was happy to have my kid back the next day.
